Drill it. NMO style mount and weatherproof cap for when not in use. Just remember never to transmit without the antenna installed. So my best bet is to just remove the antenna when it's not in use? I'd rather not have it scraping low overhangs. Reason being, I live close to NYC and frequent parking garages and other low lying structures.
Thanks, that's very heplful!El cheapo mag mount antennas will give you el cheapo performance.
However, there are quality mag mount CB antennas on the market:
Wilson "Little Wil", about $45
K30 Magnet Mount, about $40
Wilson 500, about $60
Hustler and Cobra also make mag mount CB antennas, but they are not as good as the antennas listed above.
There are also more expensive mag mount CB antenna, but those are unnecessary for your purposes.
A member 3D printed out some dashboard mounts that work for the Midland CB that you have. Should be able to find it with a quick search on the forum, or look in my garage thread for a picture and info.I finally got my Midland all set up. I mounted the Firestik on the driver's side of the rear hatch and ran the cable under the rear window, above the driver's side passenger door and under the floor mat to the center console. Now, where to hang the handset?
Brilliant! I think that might just be the spot. This is where I hung my mic.
Thanks for the tip, I'll poke around and hit him up.A member 3D printed out some dashboard mounts that work for the Midland CB that you have. Should be able to find it with a quick search on the forum, or look in my garage thread for a picture and info.
