I think I've finally got my cooling issues sorted and I'm trying to get a few runs in before the snow falls.

I'm new in the area so I don't know all the good spots but I was looking at trying China Wall just west of the Springs on Oct 10th (flexible) if anyone wants to go.

Rampart is probably the biggest and most well known OHV park in that area. I haven't been in years - there's a lot to do there but the last few times I went it was really crowded. The MX, ATV and SXS crowd had grown a superiority complex and were giving us a hard time. Could be totally different by now.

Mt. Baldy is another close to COS. Haven't done that one but the youtube vids look fun.

Then there's Slaughterhouse Gulch OHV Park near Bailey, it's not very technical but a fun day trip. Alpine loop is awesome, Imogene Pass, Engineer's Pass, Ouray......there are so many. If you're looking for a straight up OHV park, other than Rampart, there really aren't any really great ones. Tons of passes and mountain roads. Plenty of vids on YouTube for you to check out. Not familiar with China Wall, I'll have to check that one out.

Check out the Colorado section of this forum and Traildamage.com (and other similar sites).

May I suggest going up I-70 to Georgetown to Waldorf Mine/Argentine Pass, grab pic with Gray's/Torrey's in the background, complete Guanella Pass, come down 285 via Geneva creek. Awesome loop this time of year, colors should be near peak.

I’m up for some trail time. Any difficulty works for me. I work Monday-Friday so pretty much any Saturday I’m in. I could likely do October 10th. I have barely done any trails this year due to work so I’m really itching to get out.

Phantom Canyon Shelf Road is nice. Mt Herman is OK, haven't been there since before that biker was shot. I thought then that it was not safe with reckless shooters. That trail near Rainbow Falls was always crowded. My buddies are avid ATVres, they love it. Alpine Loop is 5-6 hours one way from Springs.

Hey guys, I know this is a super old post, but are you all interested in meeting up this year West of Denver or COS? Is there a club set up for Colorado Xterras?
I'm a bit more north up in the Boulder/Erie area, but I'm always down for some wheeling basically anywhere in the state. I do quite a bit of wheeling/camping/mtnBiking trips during spring, summer and fall. always down to join other Xs on the trail.

Going this Sunday with some friends to the Buena Vista area. We're leaving early AF, like 6am though. You're welcome to join or we can plan something for another date. LMK via PM. Do you belong to any Xterra-specific groups on FB?

There is a club called NORAC. Mainly in the Denver metro area but there are people scattered around the Front Range. In COS there is a group on CS Project X. Both can be found on FB.
