i am going to build a front bumper something similar to what shrockworks and ARB offers. to those you have the bumpers, is there anything that i should keep in mind when designing? i wanted something that hides the front suspension a little more than shrockworks but not as commerial looking as ARB. also i have those 5"x7" KC's that i want to incorporate. dont get me wrong, Shrockworks and ARB put out great products, i just wanted something that was going to make me different from others.

I hope you have killer fab and welding skills and a deep pockets.

I don't think you really need to worry about anything special. Just design your bumper and allow it to bolt up to the frame horns just like the stock bumper.

Don't forget easy access to the oil filter, and my guess is the approach angle is improved with the suspension exposure of the Shrock...

I guess that is one thing to worry about. You NEED a front skid. The radiator sits so low and is so exposed that without a skid.

I believe that matrix is a metal fabricator. I know he was talking about fab up some sliders when we were at PAP in January.

its going to be tough but im cheap and i didnt want to spend the $800. plus its a good learning experence. I think steel it the way to go cause its almost free. there is a space between the headlight and the top of the shrock bumper. is that there for clearence or do you think its there to keep the price down? i think im going to make a seperate panel for access to the oil filter. thanks for the info.

and i couldnt beat the price for the sliders. between my time, labor, and powdercoating, it wasnt worth it.

That gap is so that when the bumper flex's it doesn't come up and crush the head light / fender.
