Made a right hand turn around a corner yesterday going home from work. There was a little patch work done on the asphalt there, so it was a little bumpy, but not bad. In the middle of the turn I hear what sounded like something smaking the underside of the body on the right hand side right where the rear suspension is.

Is there any way to inspect for a broken leaf spring without taking anything apart?

When mine broke it was on the front eye mount. Where I could not see.

Just inspect with a flashlight and you can feel around with a finger. If it is not the front eye, then you should see it plain as day.
