I'm not sure if this is something typical with some Nissan's, but if I brake into a speedbump, pothole, etc. when it's wet outside the brake pedal vibrates and it sounds like the brakes are slipping for just a quick second and there is a little bit of a noise.

Xterra has new brakes and tires, and it seems to do fine if it's dry. Is it just oversensitive ABS brakes?

Good driving practice is to brake while you have maximum traction - i.e. going straight before you turn, hit a bump, change direction, change road surfaces, etc. Motorcycle riders are keenly aware of this, but it applies to everyone.

Just sayin...
