A cadet and soldier from the Bolivian army drowned on November 19, 2013 after being ordered to retrieve a captain's Xterra that was washed into the Quirpinchaca river in the southern Bolivian city of Sucre. The bodies of cadet Luis Estter and soldier Alan Alvarez were recovered 15 kilometres from where they disappeared, close to the town of Yotala. The Quirpinchaca river was swollen by heavy rains.

should have used more men...... :)

an Xterra is a valuable thing........
Hahaha kind of reminds me of the scene in Blazing Saddles.

Railroad worker: Ok boss, I'll send over a couple horses to investigate the quicksand.
Sheriff: Horses! We can't afford to lose no horses you dummy! Send over a couple of... "Bolivian soldiers."

Hope he gets the punishment he deserves for such an order. On the other hand, sometimes ya have to grow a pair and tell your commanding officer to "Go fcuk yourself"

I would send at least a platoon of Bolivian soldiers after my Xterra.
:)

on second thought maybe a company or slightly less than a battalion(of Bolivian soldiers) :):)

fireteam
4 NCO
squad/section 8–13 squad leader
platoon 26–64 platoon leader
company 80–225 captain/major
battalion 300–1,300 lieutenant colonel/colonel
regiment/brigade 3,000–5,000 lieutenant colonel/colonel/brigadier/brigadier general
division 10,000–15,000 major general
corps 20,000–45,000 lieutenant general
field army 80,000–200,000 general
army group 400,000–1,000,000 general of the army
army region 1,000,000–3,000,000 field marshal
theater 3,000,000–10,000,000 commander-in-chief
