This past weekend my wife was out of town on a business trip. So I took the Xterra, with fresh Shrock sliders out to play. I went on the easiest trail ride there, the 1, 2 & 3 trails. There were hundreds of vehicles there and 22 on our particular run!!!
My OR spec'd Xterra did very well. In fact, its about as tough of a trail as I would want to take it on. I needed the rear locker often and I scraped a good bit of power coating off the sliders. A new Four-Runner got itself hung up between a rock and tree and mangled its running boards while crushing a rear quarter panel. A D-90 crunched its tub in the same spot. I came out of it with nothing more than a few scrapes and a small dent on my lower rear driver's side door. I have no idea how I got it either.
The stock tires did remarkably well when aired down to 15 PSI. Despite minor cosmetic damage (fixed with a permanent marker) the tires are much more durable than I though.
My roll-over airbags didn't go off and my front diff didn't break.
Despite ground clearance issues, I couldn't have asked for any more capability. I have a CJ-7 when I want to really play in the rocks.
If you are in the area during one of these events, they come highly recomended.

Here's a short video of a bit of my drive up the Pinnacle trail (Caution: 4megs).
