After putting some serious scratches on my new X I'm very upset. I'm made the decision to sell my motorcycle and buy a trail rig. More importantly the wife gave me permission to sell the motorcycle. She loves it and doesn't want me to sell it but I rarely ride it and she's only been on it twice this year. So anyway, my inspection is due in 6 weeks and I need new tires. Since I won't be playing in the dirt anymore, can anyone recommend a good on road tire. I'm looking for something that will maybe improve my MPG.

Look into the Firestone/Bridgestone Destination tires. They are great all season tires.

I have not idea what you are currently running, but if it's sht stock long Trails, you probably are not going to find a tire that gives you better MPG.

I have the BFG rugged long trails. They actually have worked good for me offroading but I was checking them the other day and they are shot. The center most tread of the tire is gone. But only on the back tires. The front ones look new. I run the same PSI in all of them. I asked a friend who had a 2002 X and he said he had the same problem with his long trails.
My tires only have 11K miles on them. They look like they have 110k miles on them. There are chucks missing and like I said the tread in the center is all but gone. I'd only take more long trails if they were cheap. Let me know what you want for them Sexterra. Shipping is going to kill me probably.

They are not the rugged trails, just to specify. They are the stock 's' tire.

but i will let them go for $150 for all four. like i said cheap! im getting new tires tomorrow so i can ship them out as soon as you want (if you want them)

Funny my Rugged Trails are holding up great. However, I do rotate them ~every 3K. The edges are a little rock worn, but that is it.

I have the stock tires for my 05 Xterra S 4x4. I have over 38000 miles and rotate front to back every other oil change (give or take). They are in reasonably good condition. I have a mesquite thorn in one sidewall that loses a pound of air every other day. So I just leave it there for looks. I would really like to find some plain black steel wheels that would fit without spacers when I replace the stock tires.
