Does a 24F size fit where the stock 35 size went without any issues?
Yes
(I think it was the 2005 stock size, then they switched to stock crappy little batteries later. Mine stock one only lasted 24K mi.)

BTW
-8 degrees this week and still starts easily

No issues.

I replaced both my aging Optima red tops in my lifted Suburban with two of these two years ago. I liked em a lot. I sold the Suburban about 3 months ago and just picked up the Xterra. My Xterra has a newer Napa Battery but the girlfriends Toyota Sequoia battery is going out so I'm thinking I'm gonna put mine in hers and get me another of the Boschs for the X. Pep boys has them for $198.00 plus 25% off so $150 before tax AND there is a $30 rebate going on right now as well. I bought my previous two at Pep boys as well...the 25% thing happens several times a year.

I just got a new one, about 2 yrs ago (8/16) I bought an autocraft gold from advance auto. it was ok until this winter it took a crap. they replaced it free of charge with a similar one but one that is slightly larger, its a 24f-6 model 750/935 cca's. the old one was rated at 700/865 or something like that. I can tell that this one is defintely stronger on start up, esp with cold weather. I think I paid something like $150 for the new one a couple years ago.

while i was there i asked if it was worth upgrading to the platinum agm model and they straight up said no... so.. theres that. i always like it when i ask a sales person if i should buy something and they say no, knowing full well they could just say yes to get a sale.

fit perfectly!

They weren't on my radar before this one, but they've had a following on their 6v golf cart batteries for some time I've heard. Mine is still chugging along just fine, but then it should be at its age.

The cold spell here in PA has revealed noticeable struggles with my battery's ability to start my Xterra... Awesome thread, helped me narrow down the many options. I went with Bosch based on the promotion price and 48 month warranty.

2. Type:AGM 3. Size: group 35. 4. Warranty: 48 months 5. Photo: 6. Where did you purchase this battery?: Pep Boys 7. Price?: $152 plus they have a $40 mail in rebate right now, so net $112. 8. Your overall satisfaction with the battery so far on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best battery you've ever owned: I'll start with an 8, as I just installed it. 9. Purchase date 1/22/2029

I knew as soon as my remote starter wasn't working after just sitting overnight, it was time for an upgrade. So far it's working like a champ, or like a Bosch (boss) (I can see my wife rolling her eyes at me for that one).

My battery went bad almost a year ago and nearly left me stranded.
Thankfully, I was able to crank the X one last time and made it to an Autozone which was just down the road from me.

I purchased their store brand AGM battery and have been pleased with it .
Size=24F

Btw. Below is an old topic regarding batteries which may be of some assistance to those needing to purchase a new battery.

Be aware the info provided on the link is now dated, but should provide some insight to battery manufacturers and brands.

First, thank you for this thread! My battery was on its way out, I was thinking Optima. But so many negative reviews online (amazon) discouraged me. It sounds like they may have changed quite a bit over the years. I'm very happy with the Bosch I ended up purchasing, especially for the price! They say it is made by Exide, and looking at the specs, they are basically identical.

This will be a 2 parter. One with a longtime review of my old battery and the beginning of my new one.

1. Brand: Advance Auto Platnium (Deka battery)
2. Type: AGM
3. Size: 24F
4. Warranty: 3 year free replacement
5. Photo:

6. Where did you purchase this battery?: Advance Auto
7. Price?: ~$120 after coupons

This is a very good battery to get into AGM's. While it's not a dual deep cycle/starting it has powered my fridge and no issues with my winch the times I've used it. At 710CCA and 70AH it works well.

Now this is what replaced it. Not because it's failed but because the battery in my LC has failed so I bought a Northstar 27F to fit into the Xterra and handed down the AA Platinum to the LC.

1. Brand: Northstar Ultra Performance
2. Type: AGM
3. Size: 27F
4. Warranty: 4 year free replacement

6. Where did you purchase this battery?: eBay from GPCarAudio
7. Price?: $300 after coupons

This is a huge and powerful battery and it fits fine in our stock location. You will have to cut the lips off the sides of the plastic tray or get longer j-bolts though but otherwise fitment is no issue. It has 930CCA and 92AH of juice and is a dual purpose deep/starting battery. Plenty of juice for camp/fridge etc.

Man I wish I would have seen this a few weeks ago!! That's awesome that a 27F fits in there. I just put in a 35F of one of these batteries. If I'd known the 27F would fit I would have got that instead. Oh well, I know now so....next time!

I may have been the first to try a 27F not sure as I searched and couldn't find anyone who did it. Found 31 with some modification to fit and 34R but no 27F but I went out and measured the space and seemed like it should fit so I gave it a shot....a very expensive shot >:)

Great battery so far; lives outside high up in the rockies. Used an odyssey 34 spacer to fit it. One star off wish a spacer was included.
