I am a new owner of a 2012 Xterra S, and so far have really only made cosmetic changes, with the exception of a DynoMax exhaust system. I am looking for a few upgrade ideas that will improve performance/add horsepower. I am considering adding an after market cold air intake, and have looked at a few engine programmers. Any suggestions for this Xterra newbie?

the xterra is not a speed beast so keep that in mind ... that being said i've heard the IMS (intake manifold spacer) and the programer (to remove the WOT restriction) are probably your best bang for the buck .

Lots to read on this topic ... if the site search engine doesn't work for you, try using Google limited to this site. Syntax is "[your search string here] site:thenewx.org" ...

... and here's a great post to get you going in your research. http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=98161 ... PS - it's a sticky in the "Powertrain & Driveline" subforum.

Any brand recommendations? Also, with a K&N CAI v. the Volant, what will the biggest differences be?
