Bought some supplies this weekend and took the X out for a spin in some dirt and then to the lake with my daughter's 2010 Rubicon I just picked up for her this month for her 17th birthday. Here's what I grabbed and a few photos.

48" Hi-Lift Jack and base - 2: one for X and one for Rubicon
ARB Tree Saver
ARB Recovery rope
Spare D-Rings
First Aid Kit
Lund 3" Oval Nerf bars - ordered but not installed
Interior Roof Cargo Net from Raingler - ordered but not installed

I hope to have my order in for my rear-bumper and tire carrier this week. I'm seriously working on the logistics to see if I can make the run to Deadhorse in 2017 with the team. If I can do it, I will be stepping up the mod timetable for sure.

So I've been feeling good about my plans for the X and then I come outside today and my daughter pulled the new jeep I bought her nose-to-nose with the X. Grrrrrr. I think I need the 5" calming lift or something. Seeing it like this makes me feel like it's still stock. So annoyed right now

Those nerf bars will not do you any good.
you should order rock sliders.
Those nerf bars are worthless.

See if you can cancel the order for the nerf bars

285s will get you a 2" lift. Good start.

I agree with the need bars not being worth much.
Thanks guys! I'm on a plane right now but as soon as I land I'll call and see if I can cancel. In reading through the threads it appears a lot of you like Hefty Fabworks. I'll see if I can get some sliders and skid plates from them when I get to the hotel. I appreciate the feedback and help! I wish I found this forum a long time ago.
If you like the look of the stock side steps but want rock sliders, the hefty's look a lot like them, I can't tell you how many people mistake my hefty's for side steps. I do like the step plate they have raised dimples for decent grip when slick conditions are present
Thanks. I'll check out White knuckle now. I do need the "step" function on a slider since my wife "Claims" to be 5'1"! :)
White knuckle, hefty, shrockworks, and P&P are all good options for sliders.
White knuckle and P&P have a kickout at the rear for added step to reach the roof (or additional protection for the side of the truck)
Shrock MAY have a long wait (months). P&P seems fine as long as you aren't on a group buy... they've gotten buried and had to dig their way out in the past.

Hefty, shrock, and P&P all sell skid plates.
Hefty and shrock seem to be the favorite, maybe because P&P is newer? Hefty and P&P offer aluminum skids to save a little weight if you don't plan to really beat on them (even then, seems like aluminum holds up well).

285/70 tires will get you a little more height... but may disagree with your fenders if your wheels are ANY wider offset than stock. And when they disagree, the fender loses. Easy to trim, but some of us don't want to cut the outer fender metal.

Thanks for the help guys! I did my homework today and based on the availability and pricing (pricing was about even so turn around time was a deciding factor), I just submitted my order with Shrockworks.

*Rear bumper with tire carrier
*Sliders
*Skid Plates - Oil pan, transmission, radiator, gas tank, and transfer case

Skid plates are in stock and the sliders and bumper should be done in 6 weeks. When I get back to Texas this weekend I'll throw the plate son, remove the plastic mud flaps do the melt mod. Plates are most time sensitive if I'm going to try and get out one weekend this month with the Texas guys. bumper wont matter much until I try to hook up with the guys in NW, CO or somewhere in the Mountain Region. I'm only home 5-business days this month due to work so the 6-weeks will hopefully go by fast.

Thanks again! I'll add photos once everything is installed.
