Hello guys - I'm contemplating adding an ARB locker to the front diff on my Pro4x 6M so I got quotes for the install from a couple of offroad shops here in town. I was quoted "minimum $6 to 800" from one shop for the install and then the local 4 Wheel Parts said minimum "thousand to two thousand" just for the install. Needless to say I was blown away by these quotes!

Is the air locker, compressor, and wiring really that hard to install?

Would I be better off going to some other sort of place, like a transmission or gear shop?

Anyone in South Texas have any tips? I would even consider a trip to Houston/Dallas/etc if the cost was right.

Thank you in advance for any help.

John

Compressor and wiring are fairly easy to install, just follow the instructions. I got mine installed at a 4x4 shop that sells ARB stuff for under $350. Take the diff out and take it to them to install the locker and put the diff back in yourself. You will have to hook up the air line but thats easy.

Hey thank you TomsRedX - that is an excellent idea. I do most of my own work anyway so maybe that's the best way to handle it.
