II Gen Nissan Xterra Air Conditioning Information:

These are the factory specifications for the Manual Air Conditioning System. If you are recharging the system yourself you will need these measurements to refill the system properly. DO NOT overcharge the system or you will risk discharging the refrigerant into the air or damagin your A/C Sytem. The refrigerant is a noble gas and is hazardous to breath or come in direct contact with.

Lubricant
Description: Genuine Nissan A/C System Lubricant Type R (DH-PS)
Part #: KLH00-PAGR0
Capacity: 180mls (6.1 US fl oz)
Replacement of any individual A/C component will require the addition of 1oz of replacement lubricant. (i.e. - If you replace the condenser and the compressor you will need to add 2oz of lubricant back in the system.)

Refrigerant

Type: HFC 134a (R-134a)
Capacity: 1.54lbs (+ or -) .11lbs
Most DIY refrigerant kits are only 17oz, so if your system is empty when you are recharging it, you will need an additional 5+oz of refrigerant.

Pressure: 551.0psi (+ or -) 43.5psi
This confuses me....

When the high pressure side is over 398psi safety kicks in and kills the compressor.
When the pressure reaches 433.6psi a safety pressure release valve opens and vents to atmosphere.

References are AllData and personal experience at the beginning of summer before i had the proper gauges and just kept pumping the **** out of the low end side with the simple autozone kits and couldn't get it to where i wanted it. Then realized high pressure side was about to pop. Explained why at any RPM when compressor spooled up a bit my A/C would kill off and give me nothing the same as full throttle cut off would do.

Starting up an old thread here, but I'm almost certain my 2005 needs a new A/C compressor.

Do all 2nd gen model years (2005-2015) use the same compressor? I found several used and reman compressors with a 1 year warranty for around $100, but just wanted to make sure they will fit my 2005.
