I noticed this one time when I turned the knob to defrost.

After, I turned it back to vent/floor, I noticed the compressor was still running.

The ac light is out, but it's still on.

To turn it off, I switch the knob to off, then it stops.

I leave the vent/floor setting on most of the time.

After sitting a night, It doesn't run the compressor on vent/floor, just when i switch to defrost, and back.

Is their a switch that goes bad that causes this?

Although it shouldn't be, I think that this is normal for these trucks. I noticed that the compressor is on sometimes on mine even when the light is off so I always reset it but turning the switch to off them back on when switching modes.

Read owner's manual:
"When the defrost is selected, the airconditioner automatically turns
on (however, the indicator light on the button will not come on) if the outside temperature is more than 36°F"

"If the air flow control button is selected for more than one minute, the air conditioning system will continue to operate until the fan control dial is turned to OFF, the vehicle is shut off, or the A/C button is used to turn off the compres- soreveniftheairflowcontroldialisturnedto a position other than the position."
