Hi there, greetings from Los Angeles.
I have been roaming on this site for several month as I was considering buying an X, and I finally got one! I understand these trucks have some issues but the info I could find here helped me decide I could live with them if I'm careful, as I do some basic work myself. I'm not a certified mechanic but did worked in a shop long enough to pick up some tricks.

Anyways, it's a 2005 4x4 Off-Road, just over 107000 miles, no mods. It's been dealer serviced according to Carfax. I called those dealers in the report and they don't tell me what exactly they did? Anyways, I did careful inspection and it's looking and running good so far.

I chose the X over other SUVs mainly because of its looks. The reliability was a bit of concern (lol), but as i see it, any other off-roader SUVs have many issues, often worse than Xs, except for Toyotas. But they look bland and seem overpriced. I am determined to live with whatever my X will offer now.

I initially planned this truck will be my weekend toy to do some moderate off-roading, but I'm liking it so much I'm tempted to use it daily. It rides fine on highways for what it is, and the Rockford audio is alright in my book. I was going to keep it very much stock but looking at others' awesome rides I'm tempted to do off-road mods. I'll see.

Anyways, thanks for making all these info available. You may be seeing questions from me, some may be dumb, and I hope to find your guidance to a happy Xterra ownership.
