Hope everyone is staying safe, after getting a bit of cabin fever I decided to hit up a local trail since there had been a good rain recently. Water was decently high in one part especially and I may have hit it a bit too hard (who doesn’t love splashing giant mud puddles)

Anyways on my way home about 30 minutes later I noticed my 4wd light was on and the display under it was completely blank, my guess would be I had gotten water in some of the electronics. I listened to see if it still shifts into 4wd and it does still seem to. Weird thing is that it is very sporadic, only seems to happen while driving on an incline really. If I shut it off for about an hour and start back up it’s fine.

Anybody have experience with this? If it helps I have a 6mt and had the clutch changed recently and noticed a connection hanging lower than I’d like near the transfer case. Video attached is shows exact problem

I had my 4x4 screen go blank after a struggle in the snow... different lights popped up and ones that should show hid.
It went away after things calmed down and engine cooled off.
It never came back..... except for that one time years later when the same thing happened in the snow...
and then this another time, with snow...

sometimes you're just driving in the desert and then suddenly snow is all around you

Went to the dealership today for some diagnostics, they told me it was my 4wd switch. Getting that fixed at a shop on friday, I’ll update everyone if that fixes it

If they did it right and connected using their different diagnostic programs from dealer laptop, they may see exactly the issue and it can be simple like in this case.
Hopefully they did and it's a simple fix.

Just got my truck back today, apparently somewhere on the trail I tore one of the wires connected to my transfer case which caused the problem. I guess one of them hang a bit and could do with an extra zip tie or two, good tip if any of you intend to hit a difficult trail in the future!!!
