General Meet: Sat 4/12 at the AVI CASINO (South of Laughlin) parking lot by the gas station store @ - 9am

Mojave Xcursions are legendary; they’re always one of the best adventures of the year, So don’t miss this one. I don’t know if this is going to be the run for the month or not but this is the only weekend I can make in April and should be the idea time for wildflowers and desert green.

Going to be a bit different this time w/ start near Laughlin and run the whole trail this time at least to Afton Cyn east to west. Requires a overnight stay Friday night with the distances.

Hope to make it to ~ MM 69 past mid hills the first day to camped at the spot we used last year. Checking out the old fort, 5k views, Piute Creek, petroglyphs, Rock springs, through the Joshua, Yucca, trees, Govt Holes, all the good stuff basically until we get tired and camp somewhere cool.

2nd day Marl Spring, Mail box, site trip to Lava tubes time permitting, cross soda lake, Play in Afton canyon, water crossings, the whole nine yards.

This is a great overland type of Xcusrions where the scenery is the main draw, most easy wheelin’, any 4x4 will do, on various Terrain through some fun water crossing in Afton, Soda Lake unique salt flat, looks of sandy wash’s, whoop-to-do’s, etc. I’m planning on going at a nice pace but not rushing but you will take a bit of a thumping but that’s part of the adventure so keep that in mind and you will have a great time

Please post up if you’re interested or have other ideas or areas you might want to visit? We need a good head count for this one so please keep that in mind and your status updated. [Note:Copied from Brian's Post at SCCX]

Thanks for posting this up John, I knew there was something I had forgotten to do.

If anyone here is interested be sure to sign up at SCCX so we can get a good head count in advance. We need that for the permit.

Also, some of us are spending Friday night at the Tropicana Express in Laughlin, NV the night before, since the meet time is early on Saturday. Some others are camping or maybe even staying at the Avi Casino Hotel. We will probably try to organize a group dinner on Friday night.

For those who are interested, some of us are heading out early on Friday and doing some exploration along the way out there. Thinking maybe going up through Joshua Tree, 29 Palms, Amboy Crater and Old Route 66. Again, check the thread on SCCX for details, or contact me directly.

So this is really just an out of the blue question, but will the movie really be running at 12:00? Why not at night?
