Is there a noticable performance difference (i.e. acceleration, gas milage, etc.) between the 285/75-16 and the stock 265/75-16?

My truck is still quick but yea it lost some acceleration. Rolling stock on a road trip I got 22 MPG now I get just under 18 with my rims and tires. My vehicle looks good and different so I don't care.

Every car I have ever thrown bigger tires on went a little slower. Anyways, you guys are depressing me a bit. I have to figure out what would be cheaper...using the 285's I have stacked in my garage for free and eat the gas difference, or just buy new 265's at current, high-azz prices.

I wish I could tell you my mileage change, but I drive inconsitantly so I have no clue.

In my 6spd 4wd Frontier I did notice it got slower with the 285s, but nothing horrid. I will admit that 6th gear is useless going uphill at times.
