Big disappointment at SEMA. There were no x's. Even at the Nissan booth. But there were FJ's everywhere and they are brand new.
I really hate those freakin' FJ's. Toyota did such a great job at marketing and promoting those things. Nissan did crap for the X.

I hate the looks of the FJ but after you study them a while as far as design, they are pretty far ahead of an X as far as Off Road capability especially the axles and diffs. If they could just make it less ugly and get rid of the blind spot! The X is still a better deal for the money though. MC

I was at a jeep dealer yesterday (Anothe story) and I was checking out the new Wranglers. IT was just over 30K for a 2-door rubi with a MT. WOW.

But it already has a front solid axle and 4:1 T/C, so you're saving the $10K of the SAS plus the T/C gears.

If that was what I was looking for in a vehicle I would have bought the Jeep.

You cant complain about the Rubi price. Its has more goodies than the Xterra and other Wranglers (Sahara, and X).
As stated it comes with lockers front/rear, 4:1 tcase, 44's front/rear automatic swaybar disco's......
Seeing that you werent looking for those features, you could have gotten the Wrangler X, MSRP starting at: $18,765. I think you can get a 4x4 S starting at 22k.
Even then you are still getting solid axles up front and a proven drivetrain.
To each his own.
Do you want rugged, comfort, power, off road capabilities.......?
I have both  (well, not the new 07 Wrangler)

I agree that the Rubicon is expencive, and Nissan makes a darn fine truck, I like both my Jeep and Xterra. The Xterra has proven itself.
Just dont bash Jeep when its a proven off road vehicle. And just because you have an Xterra. The new 07 Wrangler is a whole new beast. With new, better features than the old. Jeep definatley kicked it up a notch.

If any 'offroad' truck/suv should be bashed, its the H2 and H3...

Having both an 05 X and a built 03 Rubi. Wheeling, the Rubi takes the cake, but on road, hell no. It scares the ever living poop out of me to drive it on the highway.

And no matter which way you look at it, a new rubicon is not worth what they are charging. I got mine for a steal which is the only reason I bought it.

As for the FJ, the only thing I feel that it's got over the X is the coiled rear end. Oh, that and mfg support.

Oh for the love of god.

Might as well put a wagon wheel on your H2.
X2

Also reminds me of when someone that a 4WD Chevy Suburban and turns it into a low-rider. Why did they buy a 4WD vehicle in the first place??? Clearance issues are kind of blown away by that mod.

06 Rubi's are going for 21k around here. However considering I was giving up an old jeep for a few more creature comforts I thought I would go with something I could haul a little more in and sleep in as well. I don't like the unlimiteds, its too long.
