Does anyone know of how to or where I can find instructions to remove the 2006 factory head unit. Non Rockfort Fosgate. If so I'd really apprecaite some help, at least on where to start.

Thanks

It's easy.

1. Use a small screw driver and pry up and remove the storage tray on the top of the dash (above the radio).
2. Remove the philips head screw.
3. Pull the center dash piece towards you from the top. It's held in with clips.
4. (Optional) Remove the air bag light wires and AC/Heat control wires.
5. Remove the 4 scerws around the radio.
6. Pull radio toward you and disconnect wires.

**Watch that the bottom clips on the removed dash center do not scratch the plastic above the 4wd controls.

pretty easy, take a tiny flathead screwdriver and pry up the tray above the CD player, after that is off, there's a bolt or two under there, then it should just clip out with a little gentle force. takes about 5 minutes first time.

IS that "smart" or dumb @ss? HA HA HA And yeah I'll note that if I run into any snags and be sure to leave it parked in a shady part of the city. ;)

And thanks for the tip about the scratches. Good to know and appreciate the tip. I got a Sony CDX-GT805DX and am waiting for it to be delivered so I can hook it up and my sub. I'll have to post how all goes and a picture of the "Pocket" to fill the double DIN.

Here's where I put my sub, custom made to ffit and allow the curtain to be drawn, plus don't interfere with loading things. Like a Bike.

The sound is incredible, I have to minus the Bass. Earth shaking, It must be the floor that makes it sound so good. I have 1000 watts on a 10". MC My Amps are under the floor in the rear compartment.
There's a complete how to on here under stereo's

Nice Pictures MC

Looks great MC. I'll have to hunt for your how too. I've been debating on where to put my amp and I have no idea yet where to put the sub. I was thinking about just keeping it in the current "LARGE" enclosure and pulling it out when I need the space. I like how you fit your box into the back side compartment. Did you put your amp under the rear compartment and if so how'd you run your wires?

Yep,
I ran the wires through the hole near the drivers side kick, down the rockers under the rear seat and into that compartment. I ran power and sound down different sides, you know why.

That was along long time ago, and my How to picture links were deleted by my wife. So I have to re-do them. ARrrhhh!

Here is a Picture of my special cover to hide from people who might want it more than me. With and without. It just slips in, made of plastic note book and a Nissan Nameplate. I have updated since this to a Carbon fiber looking one.

Better shot of the SUB.
