I'm trying to add a 20 inch light bar into the grill mouth, which requires removing the stock license plate mount. I'm in CA and need a front license plate, so it there another way I can mount it? Maybe on a new mount, lower than the stock position?

How about you mount a brush guard to mount the light bar on and mount the license plate below or on the original location?

I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't made a LED light which replaces or attaches to the license plate bracket on the front bumper of vehicles.

Odd. My lights fit with my plate bracket. I mean, it isn't one long light, its 2 short ones. Maybe because they're mounted incognito back a bit.... but they do clear the plate bracket height (when orange covers arent on). They're just pushed back to mount to some angle aluminum off the metal bumper underneath. They could have actually come forward and still been behind the plate bracket.
Do yours not fit in there, or you just can't get them in without removing the plate bracket or going from underneath?

EDIT: I just realized/remembered that I cut out some of the vertical "supports" in there. I GUESS with those in, your bar is pushed too far forward?

Just trim the license plate bracket and the light bar will fit. Adding this light will affect low speed cooling and your AC won't blow as cold when traveling at low speeds.
That's odd because I never noticed any temperature changes on mine and I mounted mine behind the license plate. I even drive like a grandma 60mph. That's because to many tickets. Learned my lesson

Same here. My mouth has a 22" mounted and my AC works like a champ, even at neighborhood speeds.
