Had these Walmart el-cheapo lights in my garage cabinet for a couple of years because they were supposed to go on my jeep (sold). A good set of undercarriage utility lights really can be handy when you are on the trail and it is pitch black. 10 or 15 ft of sideways illumination and you can see what your front tire is getting into.

I used a toyota fog light switch which fits in the switch knock-outs for the optional features not on my truck.

This is exactly what I just did a few days ago. My lights are actually wired into the circuit for the dome lights though. So when I unlock the doors with the FOB or open a door they come on. I also have the override switch installed inside.

As for position mine are farther out but in the same general location. I really love them. Bright as hell at night :)

I had a friend that owns a car audio shop help me with the wiring since I wanted to rig it to the inside lights. I can take some pictures and try to do a how-to. I really love how it turned out.

I used a 12v 30a Bosch relay so the main current doesn't go through the switch. there is a fuse on the high current side as well (part of the wiring that came with the lights).

I bundled up a 16 ga wire (with thick 105 degree C insulation) inside of some 3/8 wire loom sheath and routed across the top of the motor next to existing loom. one branch goes to the battery plus terminal and the other down along the body to the frame rail. The key to the whole wiring was the use of either the Thomas and Betts or Amp lugs and the $600 crimper by Amp that creates its own strain relief so the lugs won't pull off of the wire ends. Lastly, there is a plug underneath so I can break the wire when the trans has to come out for a clutch or whatever.

I started a small write-up. I stopped when I pulled out the cover to see the wires and figured out I really have no idea what my friend spliced into to make them work with the dome light. I'll take some pictures, and I asked him to make a quick diagram.
