Since i had some free time and 5 X wheels laying around waiting to go to the powder coater, i figured i would make this cross section up as to make finding wheels to fit the new x simpler

these are not the minimum dimensions for clearance, they are just the dimensions of the 2005+ 16" steel wheel, once i mount them i will measure clearance and shade in the cross section accordingly so we know what dimensions a wheel needs to have in order to fit the X.

this should be alot easyer than trying on a million different wheels just to see if they fit.

without further adue...

Would that be the ever-important brake caliper clearance dimension? It looks like it, if I'm reading it correctly.

Also, has anyone test-fitted Unique 297 steelies?...They have the same specs as the MB Predator wheels that supposedly fit: (16x8, 6 - 4.5 bolt pattern, 12mm offset).

I did a search here but didn't see them mentioned.

EDIT: Discount Tire's site sucks, links don't work after a while...I removed it.

It is shameful I have Pony's wheels still sitting in my garage.
Haha, you should rub it in. There was like 4 peeps behind you that wanted them. :)
I haven't even openned the boxes. They are just stacked up in the garage where I cannot even get to them anymore. Dam shame. But I call it being prepared for the tires I will have in the future.

Well,
I'd go with a more narrow tire, more along the lines of a OR stock.
Mind the diff. Get the gas mileage!
285 75 16 works but calls for a wider rim. I'm waiting for wider rim. Then I'll get a OR set for my factory rims.

I've noticed one really bad thing with my 305/70/16 on steelies. If I thought my mileage was bad before now I'm in a state of perpetual depression. Especially since I've had to make 3 and a half trips from Ft Bragg to KC,MO in 30 days. :confused2:
