Not sure if this belongs in interior, exterior, or electrical...

So my drivers side window is starting to act up. Sometimes it wont roll up or down (completely dead). Other times it rolls down but when the window hits the bottom I can still hear the motor turning. I have to tap the up button to get it to stop. Other times it works just fine (but that is more and more infrequent). I am assuming I just need to replace the window regulator/mechanism thing, but maybe not... could this be an issue with the switch instead? I'm thinking the problem is around the sensor that tells the window it has finished rolling down, since it doesn't seem to be getting that signal. Any thoughts before I go pull the door apart?

Thanks
Nathan

Mine has just started to randomly not want to roll back up. A few taps on the switch/door panel and it works fine.

My first thought is to clean the switch and make sure all connections are ok. A tap has always worked, so I haven't worried with taking the panel apart since I haven't had time. :D

My problem turned out to be the window motor/regulator, not the switch bu tit wasn't. Replacing that is probably your best bet. I really thought it was the switch. It takes about an hour to replace the regulator, but is fairly easy if you read the instructions here: http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26631

And here: http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1096770#post1096770

I used this part (complete motor/regulator assembly): http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-741-348-Nissan-Driver-Regulator/dp/B00412YT8W/ref=phovid-20?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1379141349&sr=1-1&keywords=741-348+regulator

NOTE that that is for the front driver side door. The parts are different for different doors/sides. The replacement has been working fine since i put it in a month or two ago.

its a 50/50 issue... either your switch is not working (had to replace mine 2nd time window problems came around) or the motor for the window is going bad.
you need an electrical auto shop to test the arm rest module and the motor to determine what needs to be replaced.
