Really good to know. If I ever decide to revisit HIDs, I may go this route. Looks...

Hey all, my stock halogen housings are fogged and cracked and overall in really poor shape, so I just want to replace them outright. I want to upgrade the output to something in HID territory (I live...

Just got an 07 Off-Road and I want to replace the spare tire (the one on there is the original! Yikes!) but it didn't come with the spare tire kit. Can I just get any compatible kit, or is the OEM...

Right? Super weird. Could have been a squirrel or some other woodland creature tried to nom on it and ripped that hole? Or something got stuck and was rubbing against it? I really don't know. Like I...

I'll probably do that. I may even hit up the local Jeep dealership, since they deal with Dana 44s and diffs regularly, if I can't find a local shop.

I swapped out the old gear oil (gross) with...

Thanks for the write up! I attached a photo of the tear for reference. I honestly have no idea how it tore, especially since it's only been on the truck for 10k miles.

This gives me hope, ha....

I haven't gone wheeling (just got the car a little while ago) and I have no idea if the previous owner did (but probably not, based on the regular all season tires they put on). I have the knowledge...

If the throttle body was really dirty, I'd check the air filter and the airbox to make sure there's no cracks or tears letting gunk into the engine. That would cause your issue with the misfire and...

Tear in CV Axle Boot

I was changing the front pads and rotors on my X yesterday and discovered the passenger side CV boot was torn, in what looks like a result of rubbing against the caliper at full lock. It spun out a...

Unfortunately, the work was done by the previous owner at a shop 4 hours from where I live, and about a year ago. I don't think it's worth even trying to go back there to try and get anything.

Good to know. Mines an 07, so it falls under the 140 weight, but I guess it doesn't matter. I'm gonna do heavier weight anyway and see what that does.

Well I'll be a f*ck and a half. I decided to double check which weight gear oil goes in the m226 and universally, everyone says it's 75W140 for the m226 and 75W90 for the c200k. I looked at the...

That's a C200k diff, though. Different rear end. I think that's part of where my confusion comes from because I've seen some people put 100k on with gear whine, but I don't know if it was with a...
