General_Tarfun Finished the HVAC redo tonight, ended up using a total of 14 inches of led strip in there. Also started on the rocker switches and finished the redo of the shifter lighting. I left the led orange for the switch 'on' position and just changed the 'off' position backlighting.

I've always had an F-body growing up and the gauge cluster was orange so when I went to the X it wasn't really "new", but you definitely see how excessive it is when someone does a mod like this. It's pretty spectacular what some color does to it!
Haha yeah, it started off as a just seeing how hard it would be to do project that's morphed into an a 4 weekend in a row total interior change. The car I had before the X (Eagle Talon) had orange interior lighting too so I was going on something like 17 years of orange backlighting and really needed something different!

Thanks man! You could prob do it easy if you had a weekend to spend on it, it's more time consuming than anything. Definitely get that misfire figured out first though haha, btw on those plugs a lot of people complain about the rear passenger one being hard to get to but it's no issue if you have a few swivel adapters for your sockets. It's just a weird angle to get to with just a straight extension. It's nice to have some more southeast people getting on here! I'm actually not too far from 400 down in Buckhead.

I'm going back in to it again this weekend, I bought a brighter LED for the key ring and I'm moving the strip from the shifter to behind the HVAC because it's a little too bright for the shifter but would be perfect for the rest of the HVAC stuff. Then on to the rocker switches and hopefully that's all of it.

General_Tarfun Worked on some of the last led mods, did the HVAC (and cursed the engineer that embedded yellow into the actual plastic cutouts for most of that time), the VDC, the key ring, and the shifter, and the airbag light.

Here's where I tried to use white leds, it looks terrible. The reason they've always looked uneven is Nissan did a **** job with it and the orange plastic actually is unevenly colored.

What I found out would work was blue overlays, applied 4 layers thick to even the coloring out.

General_Tarfun Added some more leds that come on with the open-door lights for the rear while I was replacing the broken cupholder thing. The plastic cover actually comes off of the cupholder so it should be pretty easy to replace the plastic outer with the original from the truck but part of the design is that cover is attached to the hinge assembly. I'll save that for another day.

Sure no problem. I peeled off the film on the side of the display that faces the driver and cleaned the old glue off. Then flipped it over so that the side the used to have the glue now faces the driver and taped it down. You can test it once you have the film off by holding the film on the display and putting a light behind it, you'll be able to see the inversion with it flipped over. Put it back the other way and you'll see its back to the stock look.
