@Ramness @Atom @Mrcole @satown210 for possible input here since they may have done this in the past.

Those threads pretty much cover how I did it. I tried it with the plastic cold and cracked the plastic. After I saw the rubber having cracks around the buttons I knew water would eventually make it's way in and destroy the electronics. I bought the Ford keypad and tried to program it since it uses the same frequency. No-go. I used the Ford housing and keypad etc so I would have a sealed keypad again.

Use a hair dryer to get the remote soft and pliable.

My buttons are also cracked; can you confirm which ford part number matches up? I thought I had one that matched but never bought it since it was like a $75 gamble.

I am sure there might be multiple ford part numbers. Make sure you get a remote keypad as Ford offers wired keypads too. Appearances are diffferent so just look at pics. Here is one ford# ES7Z-14A626-A

I'm surprised the aftermarket hasn't jumped all over this item.

Surely it could be used on multiple Nissan models from 2005-2015

Me too. Well it pretty much was aftermarket to begin with. It wasn't made by Nissan.
