mine definitely takes longer to come out of 4H than to go in - but not a full minute. As mentioned your driveline needs to be slack for it to come out - so if your driving up an incline or something you might have to slip it in neutral, let off the gas - fiddle around with it sort of thing.

And x2 on change your fluid if you haven't in the last 30K miles.

I've been fiddling with it to try to figure out what works, but I've only gotten it to switch quickly once. Definitely going to be taking a look at the fluid when I get a chance, I only bought mine a month ago and I don't think it's been changed any time recently.

Yes, it can take a while. 2wd to 4x4 has always been way faster than 4hi to 2wd on mine.

Wow I've been here with a lot of questions lately. Chances are this won't be the last though, ha.

So I have a problem, my driver's side power lock switch doesn't work, but the passenger side and key fob both work fine. All the windows work fine as well, it's just the one switch. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? Or is this truly a dumb question?

There's a write-up somewhere on here about disassembling the power window switch on the driver's door and cleaning the contacts in there. You might start with that and see if that's the issue.

Beyond that, I've not heard of any one else having that problem.

Mildly Demented...

Found the answer was at least 50% no from reading some other threads.

Next question - which side is the short axle?

Okay so I found the issue with the power lock. Somehow the contact slider is missing. I'm guessing it was taken apart to be cleaned by the previous owner and the piece fell out without them realizing? Either way, I'm just going to find a way to make a new one. With the help of my trusty 3D printer it shouldn't be too difficult.

So I got that to work! Although I found something else weird. It works perfectly, but when I turn the electronics on and when one or more of the doors are open, it quickly locks and unlocks. It is that specific about it too, if the door is closed or the key is turned to off, it works fine. It happens on both sides, so I don't think it has anything to do with my repair, would it?

Edit: Actually that happens on most cars to prevent you from locking your keys in... I can honestly say I didn't know that. Ignore my ignorance
