Of course, there are a couple possible downsides to doing this. 1, you likely have to factory-reset it, so all of your data will be gone. And 2, you might be hitting software that is no longer compatible with Kitkat, so you might have to try to track down older versions of the programs you use.
Sorry I wasn't clear. I used the root toolkit to install 4.4.4. That did improve the performance from 5.whatever (Lollipop), but it's still slow with the Gaia GPS app. Usable, but slow.

Aah, OK. I just knew for sure that Lollipop killed the performance of that, and Kitkat was much better.

I haven't personally used Gaia, but if it stores data the way I think it does, it will be hammering an old device like that anyway. Vector-based maps are very hard on processing due to the amount of data they need to run through to be able to draw what you see on the screen. Tile-based (like Google Maps does) is very efficient for drawing, but requires huge files to be downloaded to work. Vector-based (like I am assuming Gaia uses) are a lot smaller to download, but the map needs to be drawn in real-time for the current view, which involves tracking every feature and line that may or may not be visible to see if it needs to be drawn (ie: a trail isn't stored as a line, but as a series of points, so the app has to go through every nearby trail to see if any of those would intersect with the current view).

I keep seeing posts about noisy leafs on the OME suspension. I was watching the 4xoverland video where they are doing some suspension maintenance and noticed they were putting these plastic spacers with some grease between each leaf. Can this be done with any leafs or only the fancy leafs he's using?

I wonder why they skip the plastic, ain't like it's expensive.

Thank you for searching out the part!

Alas that’s for the old boys and is too big for the tray in the ‘09 -> trucks.
I took the one out of my ‘06 and plopped it in the 2010 as soon as I got it home and found out real fast!

Something tells me those nasty Nissan bean counters 86’d it......

Well Crap. I tried. Good thing I didn't order it yet. I guess I'll have to go the other route and make some out of drawer liner

Glad I got back to ya on it. That’s a ton of green to spend on a lil mat!

Don’t tell whoever buys my ‘06, but I’m keeping the too big one and trimming to fit the 2010.
If I find an extra at the boneyard I’ll send it to you.
