V-shaped Spring Clip

For those which have performed a brake job on their Xterras.

In factory form, did your brake calipers have a V shaped spreader spring installed?

If so, were there one spring per side or two

The fronts should have one per side. Mine did not, either they fell off or someone didn't replace them at some point. The Raybestos pads I bought came with replacement shims, retainers, and springs. Some cheaper pads do not come with the hardware.

Sometimes they fall off, they're not super critical but you can buy them separately part of a brake hardware kit. I ran two on each caliper at one point but even then I didn't really notice much of a difference.
