UXOC Annual Uintas Trail Run ~ July 29th

:woohoo:
About time for the annual Uintas run again.
Meet up in Coalville (exit 162) at 9am on the east side of the freeway at the Sinclair gas station and fill up.

From there, east to the UT/Wyo border on Chalk Creek rd, dirt road across the mountains to Whitney Reservoir. Then around the reservoir and down briefly to Mirror Lk Hwy, stop at the Ranger station for lunch, Rest stop.
Then East on Mill Creek Road to Mill Creek, Lym Lake, climbing up on top of Elizabeth range, tabletop mountain and across back to Elizabeth Ridge summit.

These area roads were mostly created during the Transcontinental Railroad construction days for getting lumber to make the railroad ties from.
Lots of old tie hack cabins and camps.

We'll also visit Lyman Lake, Blacks fork commissary, possibly east fork of the blacks fork river and the final main stop at the Piedmont Kilns and ghost town of Piedmont for some exploring and pictures (plan on stopping at the old cemetery too).
From there, mostly following the old RR grade down to Sulphur Creek Res to air back up, and onto Evanstown for dinner!

Great full day of exploring and the incredible beauty of the Uintas. Stocker friendly, even though some of the trail is fairly tough. Open diffs should be fine. Lots of muddy water to splash in (and snow) across the ridge top :-)

CB's would be good to have. Pack a lunch and snacks for the day.

No extra fuel should be needed.

Hope to see you there.

I think August is a typo -- that's a Tuesday.

Definitely looking forward this!

Anyone know if the road over Moffit Pass is open? Since we'll be so close it might be fun to check it out, time permitting. It looks like the only way to connect Weber Canyon but it is all private property on the Smith & Morehouse side.

Bummer.

I've been trying to plan a traverse across the Unitahs to the CO border and that is one spot that blocked. I wanted to start in Oakley but looks like Chalk Creek and down is the best bet.
