I ended up making the stock radiator skid fit. Had to put some hard bends on it, which took forever, but it's a temporary solution. It lost some of its ability to deform near the sway bar, but whatever...at least the radiator has metal in front of it now.

Nice work, and the skids look great!

I always wonder when i see the bolt heads sticking down like in the pic: Do they cause a problem hitting on rocks etc??? I have seen the rock washers that Black Panther (???) has but are they needed?

Yeah I'd like to get some of those washers, because I think they are good so that you don't end up ruining the bolt heads on a rock. The bolts won't hold you back, obviously, but if you hit them enough they might deform enough to make removal pretty tough, in which case you'd have to drill them out (not fun).

To get the bolts out, you can take a Mig and weld another nut to the remaining head of that bolt and turn it out. The washers are great though. The washers from shocks for large trucks are about the same. Places like Petro can save them for you if you talk to them right.

Experience is a tough way to learn, because you get the test first...and the lesson afterwards. MC

I know...raising the dead but I thought this would be better than starting a new thread to talk about the same topic.

I have a used set and started to install (no instructions came with it). With the larger plate; second from the front, should there be some interference with a cross member?

In the pic below is the lip (yellow) that has some interference with a cross member (red). It is only a bit of interference so I am not overly concerned.

Anyone else experience this? Did you just bolt it down or cut off the piece?

Thanks
