U-bolts

Just wondering if anyone happens to have these measurements written down somewhere already from a stock/factory Pro4x?
For anyone running Alcans, did you get them to make your new U-bolts or source them from somewhere else?

To bend your u-bolts we need to know five things:

A. diameter of the bolt measured at the thread
B. distance from inside of one leg to inside of the opposite leg, measured close to the top away from the open end.
C. distance from inside middle of the top to the end of the legs
D. shape of the top (round, square, semi-round)
E. thickness of the current spring pack, measured close to the center bolt

i had measured but cant remember off the top of my head. it'll only take 30 seconds once you crawl under. you can take the measurements while they're on the truck.

I went with a U-Bolt flip kit when I went to the Alcans so the new U-bolts were included with that. I would recommend doing the flip now so you don't have to go back and do it later.

Agreed with the above^^

Get a u-bolt flip kit. You get new bolts and a little bit of clearance/protection under the leaves or just a bit more. It makes it simple. Also, new ubolts (flip kit uses square ones) are easy to find. I think I got a set of ones from Rough Country for $40. No need to make your own. Can't remember the size though...

I had to remove the wheel speed sensor (?) wire from the tab on the axle and then grind off tab in order to mount the flip kit so be prepared for that if you're going that route.

I'd also recommend just doing the flip kit too since you're changing u-bolts anyway.

Ya I was thinking of doing just that. You got the PRG or Nisstec flip kit? The u-bolts were long enough?

I have the PRG flip kit and its U-bolts were long enough for my Alcans plus shims. Took a peek, looks like ~1" thread left.

The PRG kit is significantly better than the nisstec kit IMO. I would buy the PRG again for sure.

How much lift do you have? You needed the shims with your Alcans? Others have said they didn't need them.

Went with PRG, needed the shims and ended up having about 1” left over. 3” lift with 600# Alcans.
