Source for Factory 7 Pin Trailer Connector

2012 Pro-4X - factory tow package. The plastic 7 pin connector got smooshed (official technical term). It's relatively easy to find the replacement OEM harness, but I just need the plastic connector. There is a connector between the harness and the 7 pin and it would be a snap to just replace the 7 pin. Nissan only sells the whole harness AFAICT and I hate to pay ~$70-80 for a harness when all I need is a $20 7 pin connector. Does anyone have a source for just the connector? Any help will be appreciated. I hate to butcher the mounting plate, but my plan B is to go with a USCAR 7 pin and splice in the USCAR socket.

TIA

If all you need is the receptacle, any camper sales place should have one or auto parts store or even Wal-Mart. They're all the same.

The devil, as they say, is in the details. While the receptacle itself is the same on virtually all the available 7 pin connectors, the interface, both mechanical and electrical has many variations. There are 7 pins with screw terminals on the back. There are some with a USCAR male socket on the back. The Nissan factory tow package uses a socket with an oval connector on the side that interfaces to the factory harness. There are also a number of different bolt hole spacings available. I am hoping to find the Nissan factory version so I can just replace the connector part without having to purchase an entire $80 harness for which I have absolutely no use. As I said in my original post, my plan B would be to splice in a USCAR female plug and just go to USCAR. That would force me to butcher the factory mounting plate to accommodate the different bolt configuration, but would allow me to easily replace the connector if it gets damaged again.

Still hoping to find a source for the Nissan factory socket.

Search places like etrailer. Probably going to get the whole harness and 7-pin but not dealer prices.

On a related note, anyone know where the trailer lighting harness fuse(s) might be found on a 2015 Pro4X?

cut the factory mount off your hitch, grind it nice and paint it, then put the new connector in your bumper and likely never break it again.

Thanks. That looks like a good approach. I was thinking a similar thought but instead of the screw terminal connector, I was thinking of interfacing to USCAR for easy replacement in the future.

Just splice into the factory harness.

Any luck finding an OEM 7 pin connector? I'm in the same boat, just broke mine last weekend and would rather replace with stock that splice wires. My local junkyard quoted $75, ouch! I will be moving mine inside the bumper once I find a replacement.
