Default Concealed carry tips

I recently purchased a smith and wesson model 442 that I plan on using for concealed carry, once I get my permit. Was wondering if any of you guys carry j-frames and what type of carry method/holster works best for you. After slipping it in a front pocket the other day I found that it prints a little bit, but I'm thinking it was just that particular pair of shorts. I'm not too keen on the idea of sitting on it in a back pocket, so I'm guessing my options are front/cargo pocket, IWB, or ankle? I appreciate any advice.

I CC. My daily carry piece is a S&W Bodyguard .380 semi-auto. I carry front pocket, but I use a pocket holster. It helps prevent printing and keeps it in the ideal draw position. Find a good local gunshop that will let you try out a few holsters in the store. You'll know right away if one will or will not work. I have about a dozen holsters for various guns collecting dust in a drawer because I bought them online stupidly and did not like the fit/feel.

Find a holsert that works for you, don't constantly touch it, don't worry think other people can see it as they are mostly sheep and don't practice any form of situational awareness. Once you get that holster practice with it A LOT. And honestly if you are going to CC seek out some training courses that will aid especially in the mindset. If you can't afford one at least check out Magpul's Art of the Dynamic Handgun.

Personally, when I used to CC daily, I either went with a SOB holster, or a pancake. Find what's comfortable and practice with it over and over and over.. not just the draw, but reholstering too.

Now days I don't CC because they don't allow it at my place of business (Dept. of Energy installation)... I carry a wicked folder that I've got thousands of hours of training and practice with, including kali... not the same, but I'm not exactly defenseless either.

I'm a big fan of IWB in the 5 O'Clock position. I recently purchased a custom Kydex IWB holster from Alabama Holsters and LOVE IT. Only problem is that it took about 2 months to get. But it was worth every penny and every second of the wait.

Sigh. It's so tough to get a CC here in MD. I should move to PA.
