Here is the law, though it's not from the DMV site. I would look to make sure it actually matches what the DMV says.

http://law.onecle.com/california/vehicle/29004.html

It looks like you would be ok, as long as you can make the chains the correct length as to not affect steering and still be able to hold the tongue of the trailer off the ground.

BTW, I am probably going to gather all these safety chain posts up and move them into a new thread. No point in cluttering this thread up.

I saw a bunch of suv's today with a tire swing arms that opens towards the driveer side. Funny what you see when your looking for it.
So chase? You called kma and asked about some of the issues you had?

Yeah, I talked to the owner (Kyle) about all these issues. That bolt is part of the Hi-Lift mount. The driver's side swing arm is due to the add-on's (LED lights, Jerry can holder, license plate light/mount). And he said that the bumper is pre-threaded to be used w/ the stock mounting hardware but I will most likely swap out and upgrade to some grade 8 bolts and whatnot. A friend is coming over either tomorrow afternoon or Sat to help me install this mofo...
