Wish they had them here in the US. I'd buy one in a second.

That new one looked like it was IFS- absolutely no articulation on the last part of the demo.

I used to wish we got the patrol here in the U.S., but after spending a couple of weeks in Western Australia this June, I'd much much rather just have the current Xterra/frontier body with the 2.5 liter diesel the rest of the world gets (27 or 28 mpg 170hp).

The older 4 door patrols looked like something we already had here- The old 1970's and 80's Jeep Wagoneers. Pass... just make the Xterra with a solid front axle in the same track width as the new jeep rubicon and that would be fine.

The Patrol is a wonderful vehicle, I only have experience with the 2002 model though, and I would buy one in a half a heart beat. The 2002 Patrol was completely rock solid, we even jumped them on pavement with no damage. Nothing has great articulation stock, even the Land Rover Defenders are limited by their factory suspension. That 2 door one looks like the Nissan version of the Defender 90. I would go for the 4 Door myself, preferably a few years back when they had the 4.2L Diesel, no the new 3.0L. Although, I would love to the 2.5L 4-Banger Turbo Diesel in my Xterra.

Looks good, but I agree that I would stick with our Xterra body, throw a Diesel engine in there, and a tougher diff.
