Do you have to do that just to replace the pads? I am expecting my Metal Matrix pads from Stillen next week and plan on doing the swap myself.

shouldn't have to, only when you remove the brake lines and have to add fluid. if you're swapping out the pads but and leaving the lines connected you shouldn't have any problems.

Word. Though should I mess w/ the brake lines, too? Thinking of taking the X in for a full brake system flush, is this part of what they would do?

Just be careful when you compress the puck inside the caliper when you are ready to install the new pades. It forces brake fluid fast back into your brake resevoir, and ive seen it make a mess overflowing.
