Searched around and couldn't find anything. I want to swap the amber LEDs for red in my '07 X. I've seen some people say there's an orange film over the gauges and that's what makes it amber, and some people just put whatever color LEDs in.
So if I just solder in new red LEDs to the dash lights, HVAC controls and such, what will happen? I'm looking for a fire engine red color.

Last night my rig was running awful like running bad gas. When I gave it throttle I heard a squeak and a rattle. This morning when I started it the fan pulley shot off the block, destroying the fan, electric fan and smashed up the radiator fins pretty good.

So I think I need this: http://www.courtesyparts.com/21052m-...0-p-11886.html

The pulley is fine but the bearing on the shaft plate with threads for the fan clutch bolts looks shot so I think this is what failed. From the photos it looks as this shaft plate comes with the bracket.

Has this happened to anyone? Is there something else I should look into replacing besides this and the destroyed fans? Thanks.

Jeff

I've enjoyed this vehicle a lot, but it is time to buy a pickup. It gets lots of compliments everywhere it goes. This website has been a great resource. I'm in Denver. My number is 303.217.6137 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************303.2 17.6137******end_of_the_skype_highlighting

Here are all the upgrades I’ve done:
-Installed Factory fog lamps in the bumper with the upgraded stalk on the steering column. The S model didn’t come with these only the SE and OR version.
-Installed PIAA accessory lights in the air dam and off road lights above the roof with lighted switches mounted on the dash. These will light up your trail or campsite at night and work great in a blizzard. I also installed a Land Rover style hood black-out kit to keep the light from reflecting off your hood.
-2” lift. Top Gun Customz spacers upfront, and 2” add a leaf kit in the back.
-Upgraded Bilstein off road shocks in rear
-255/85/16 BFG Mud Terrains (33.3”). There is about 1/3 life left in these. As they’ve worn they’ve gotten a little louder, but are still in good shape and wouldn’t think twice about putting another set on it.
-Blacked Out Wheels
-Shrockworx HD Rock Sliders. These work good as a step, but can hold the whole weight of the vehicle.
-Added Factory Skid Plate package that comes standard on the Off Road model.
-Kenwood stereo with CD and Ipod jack
-Tinted windows up front
Here is all the recent maintenance I’ve done:
-Had all the fluids changed (tranny, diff, radiator, PS, T-case) at 55K
-New Red Top Optima Battery
-New Belts, and belt tensioner
-Recently replaced the Fuel Sending Unit. These are guaranteed to go bad on these trucks before 75K and it is a $450 fix.

The only problem is that I lack the knowledge, space, and tools to install it. If anyone in Colorado could help me out I'd be more than willing to provide food and drinks :drink:. I'd say that it's about time for me to meet you guys too :). I'd like to get it on before October so if anyone could help me out that would be awesome :notworthy:

2006 Nissan Xterra X Black Automatic with the power Package (power windows, door locks, mirrors, cruise control) and Nissan OEM carpet floormats and cargo mat. Immaculate Condition. This truck looks showroom new. Has never been off road. Has never seen snow, I store it in a very nice garage for the winter (goes in November, comes out in May). I am the original owner and I bought it brand new. The vehicle is fully paid off and I have the title in hand. Yes it really only does have 11,000 miles. I live 1/3 of a mile from work and either walk, ride my bike or drive my 1987 Saab. I have never driven my truck to work, almost all the miles are from trips to Canada and New York. The interior looks brand new, as does the exterior. There is not a single door ding. As you can probably tell by now, I am very protective of my vehicle. Absolutely has never been smoked in or a pet inside. The back seats might have been sat in three times. I have never eaten in my Xterra. All service from day one has been done at the Nissan Dealership and I have every receipt. I will provide the number to the service manager for you, they know me well and know I am fanatical about this truck. The powertrain warranty is in effect until December 2011. Please PM me with your contact info if you are interested. $18,000. Located in Maine.
Bored at work and listening to some tunes on Grooveshark... Current playlist consists of Between the Buried and Me, In Flames, and Parkway Drive. I definitely lean more towards metalcore and melodic death metal, but I enjoy the genre on a whole.
Any other metalheads out there?

Really liked the way many of the rigs looked with the Procomp 7089 and love the flat black on the black rig. Many of the future mods are waiting or are on order. I’m still in the middle east so much of the install is waiting till I get home in November 2010. Forgot to take pictures of the rear doors and the amp rack but will get those when I get home in November 2010.
Yeah Im sure most of your hamsters fell off their wheel at the beginning of that.

So my buddy Navcom20 (Griff, Or Tom) came over on saturday and we started a little project on getting my lights somewhere effective and getting them to work, Im putting 4 PIAA 520 SWR's up top in a few months and getting 510 SWR Fogs, For my fogs so the grill seemed to be a great idear for me. On the 1st gens the grill is a one piece clip on P.O.S. so that wouldnt worked I removed it and tossed it across the garage.

Ill get to the mounts in a sec, which you can see in the photo above.

After that we decided to use the front bumper which is made up of the cosmetic plastic and underneath that the actual metal bumper

I set up a piece of cardboard and aligned the mounting holes up and put a dot underneath each of the 4 holes about 1.5 inches below and drilled through the plastic bumper and into the metal bumper.

I took some spare 1/4'', 4'' long bolts with 2 washers and dropped it through the light mount and through both bumpers .. I later realized there was a gap between the plastic bumper and the metal bumper and after bolting down it would snap the plastic. We took about 18 1/4'' washers and electrical taped them together to fill the void between the bumpers and create a stable mounting spot.

Then bolted them down and did this for all 4

After that we setup the wiring , which I didnt take pictures of.. but it was grounded to the frame connected the primary power to the battery and the relay grounds to the battery, ran the wiring through the firewall grommet and under the carpeting to the rocker switches I have on the dash. Very simple.

Once that was done I tested the lights and put the plastic grill back on and put the lights on their mounts. The whole project with breaks and hardware store trips from about 11 am to 520ish.

Heres the finished product

Another

All my thanks to Navcom20 for the hard work, ingenuity and good times.
