Is is worth it? To go from a 06 Xterra X 4x2 to a Titan XE 4x2 for the same price? I'm not sure what to do. My Xterra has more features but the Titan has some nice power to it and its much more quiet on the hwy at speed. Too bad the fuel ecomony is crappy in the Titan.

i think you have to ask yourself that question. do you tow? do you need the cargo/passenger space?

Those two things never go together.

Also if you don't need it to tow or the extra room/space then why not trade it in for a 4wd? It will give you a lot better trade in value than any 2wd truck every will.

i think thats the biggest thing...you gotta be honest with yourself. if its just 'nicer'..theres other options with better economy....

but if you are gonna use it, then sure. I wouldn't...but that's because i don't tow very much, or need a bed

i really wanted a titan, until i drove it. Man it feels like a domestic truck~! pretty disappointed with nissan quality inside. Like others said, its easy: if yolu need to tow HUGE stuff, or need the bed, get it. Otherwise, id never give up my X

I think it really depends what you are looking for. If you are looking to tow stuff go for the Titan. If you are somewhat in between, go with the Frontier. Decent towing with the better and better fuel economy than the Titan. I love my X but theres nothing wrong with the Frontier.

After spending most of the day on the road in a Titan I'm extremely pleased with it overall. But I'm leaning towards keeping my X. Mainly because negative equity will whoop my ass on the deal. Not too thrilled about giving up my X for a Titan 2wd base model with no power accessories, actually the only thing that bothered me was not having power mirrors. I'm looking at it as this my 4yr lease on the X 430 a month will total $20,640 and another 10 grand if I want to purchase it. On the titan my payment will increase to 450 for 72 months and I'll have the title. So it pretty much looks like 32,400 total paid for the titan or 30960 for the Xterra if I decide to keep it past the lease. However, I can try to refinance my Xterra since I know the payoff is $24,900. What really sucks is that my wife doesn't like the X when compared to the Titan. But lately its been a pain in the ass having to borrow a relatives full size truck lately. Too bad the base Titan doesn't have the utilitrac in the bed or the spray in bedliner. Sorry for the long read guys.

For the most powerful truck in its class why did nissan pick the weakest axle in it class? Thats someting to think about.

Well its done. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I ended up getting it $300 below invoice, plus factory rebate, and a $250 gift card to Sam's. Not too shabby.

Well congrats.

Too bad, wish I had known you were going to commit to the purchase for sure.

I could have probably gotten you like 4k knocked off.

Thanks guys. I love the Xterra but I just hated moving stuff in it. I never wanted to get the cargo area dirty or scratched. I'm weird like that. So now I still have room for passengers and seperate area that I can abuse as soon as I get it rhino-lined in the coming weeks. I got my my Titan for $19,550 after the rebate no other dealers would do it. So now I have a full size truck and a family sedan.
