Hello all, Hey anyone get this annoying cluck sound coming from the leaf springs It happens everytime I turn. I have tried taking them apart and greased them the sound stopped for 2 days. If I WD-40 the crap out of the leafs it'll stop for a couple of days also. Any clues guys this is just driving me crazy.

Roll up the windows and pump up the volume, bro. If you've done all that and still nothing, what else?
Try your dealer see what they say. In my experience they will just ignore you or tell you you are allucinating.

The leaf springs on the X are the noisiest I have ever heard. It seems any bit of dust in there makes them squeak. Whenever I go wheeling I come back sounding like a 50 year old rust bucket. People actually stare at me because of the noise! It gets better when it's washed and sprayed down (the spring pack that is) but is never completely quiet.
I've also heard the clunks, but they are off and on and seem random, plus I have no idea where they come from.
I've just gotten used to it all...

Make sure a leaf is not broke.

I have an SE. I have taken it to the dealer 2 times the first time they spread open the clips on the leaf spring and the second time they greased them the noise came back. If you let the suspension sag fully like on a lift it will also stop for a few days but it comes back it always comes back :mumum:

I am begining to think it has to do with the skid plates.

Nope not the skid plates. I have the S model and mine started doing it right after the first time i put her in the mud. I sprayed the crap out of them with WD40 and it went away for a wile, just to come back louder and stronger. But eventually it started to die down a little, and after i put my shackle lift on, it became virtually unnoticeable!

Stay away from the WD40 - it dry out to fast, it's sticky and attrac dust and crap. Use "Fluid Film" or plain old "White grease" and do it as shown in the Service bulletin posted by BGXterra (3 post before this one)
See Ya!
