I have seen postings in the past of a few people using a line-x type product on the sides or bumpers. I'd like to do this on my X, just to the bumpers, front and rear, and the bump guards on the door. Anyone have any good pics, or reasons not to/ to do etc? Obviously resale is to be affected but I don't care about that. (now haha)

I used Herculiner on my Shrock Sliders and front bumper (will be doing my rear soon) along with my rear corners. I also Herculined my rocker panels and lower doors.

I am happy with the results. The Herculiner is a DIY type of bed liner. It's a Polyurethane with chunks of rubber in it. The only problem with it is that it's no UV safe and it fades. I personally like the faded look, but that goes right a long with my dents and scratches.

I'll be doing herculiner on my rear step, side steps, and the steps on the nerf bars, stay tuned a week or so for the pics!

Hey Muzikman your job looks great. Now, on the front, did you just do the main grey bumper (i.e. not the grille part between the lights, or the fake skid plate looking part in the middle?)

You say the herculiner will fade... I don't think rhino lining will, right?

Rhino liner will fade. My Dad has his truck bed done with it. Rhino does have a product that brings the "shine" back.

yeah I'm going to go ahead and splurge the 20 bucks for the uv topcoat. Although the X will be garaged or shade-parked for 95% of the remainder of my ownership of it!
