: Oklahoma Mod Day/Meet and Greet!
OKXterra 09-25-2011, 09:54 PM Okay fellow Okie X owners, the time has come for us to all get together face to face! SoonerFan has offered up his garage for our use on Sunday 16 October. He lives in Moore, Oklahoma so it will be fairly centrally located. The hope is to get a little wrenching done and finally get a chance to know each other in person. So who's in?
List of those planning to attend:
SoonerFan
OKXterra
MississippiGal
jeepman1
Macland
Rosser-X
Macland 09-25-2011, 10:07 PM Still gotta run it by the wife. I'm waiting for that perfect good mood to ask lol.

LOL! I understand.
High-Altitude-X 09-25-2011, 10:37 PM Have no earthly idea at this point in time, been spending so much time on school then the rest of the free time working on the VW (newish project). I have subscribed to this thread and will keep up with it as it gets closer. Either way it sounds like a good time.
SoonerFan 09-26-2011, 07:42 AM I guess I'll be there
jeepman1 09-26-2011, 11:18 AM I say yes,but there is a lot of time between now and then. Mike call me a few days before the event and remind me. I'm getting old.

LOL! No problem.
SoonerFan 09-26-2011, 07:24 PM I have most common tools to include air tools.
Have room for an X in the garage, six in the driveway, and plenty on the street

Macland 09-27-2011, 03:04 PM So I've got the go ahead with conditions. She wants to go to the zoo at some point during the day.
So I'm curious as to what kind of plans we have for the day? What all are we doing to who's rigs? What time are we starting?

no set time yet...we can work with your schedule. zoo is about 15-20 min from my house
only work i need to do is install a radiator skid
OKXterra 09-27-2011, 03:55 PM Great, Macland! I'm kinda open for time and figured we'd see who all was interested and go from there. Pretty soon I'm going to post a list of things I was going to put in the For Sale section but would prefer to give local Okies first shot at them. Maybe I'll get on that today or tomorrow.
Macland 09-27-2011, 05:17 PM Sounds great to me. I need to take my bumper off and re attach it with the new mounting brackets and spacers. I have been trying to get a friend of mine to help me do it but he works odd hours and we can never get together. I figure I need to do the radiator bypass while I have it off too, and my dang fog lights quit a few days after I got the bumper on so I'm thinking maybe I've got a short or something I can't find. That's my short list and it really doesn't amount to much.

SoonerFan 09-28-2011, 09:57 PM im excited about this!
OKXterra 09-30-2011, 07:51 PM Okay, so I need to figure prices out still, but here are a few items I plan to bring on the 16th to sell if anyone is interested. I'll post prices as soon as I figure that part out, and if I find anything else that those that are coming might be interested, I'll add that to the list...
Shrockworks radiator skid plat (Sold to SoonerFan)
Driver's side Tow hook (Sold to SoonerFan)
Cargo Area Cover (OEM)
Cargo Area carpeted floor mat (OEM)
Volant filter (non-PowerCore)
OEM S coilovers (with only 1500 miles on them)
Also have a ton of OEM parts we've pulled off of the X and Fronty, but I suspect those showing up won't be interested.
SoonerFan 09-30-2011, 08:24 PM I'll take the tow hook too
Macland 09-30-2011, 09:07 PM I've got a stock radiator skid, passenger side tow hook, and crash bar that are up for bids. Ha since this isn't a for sale ad I don't have to post prices. I doubt interest but I figure I'll list them up anyways.
OKXterra 10-01-2011, 07:58 AM I forgot, I also have 2 extra map pockets for sale... the same as in this thread: (SOLD to Macland)
http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=44641&highlight=map+pockets
they are new, and I will even provide the rivets to install them. Asking $8 each so I break even on them.
SoonerFan, I'll PM you about the hook.
Macland 10-01-2011, 11:11 AM Dibs on the pockets!

aggieE46 10-01-2011, 01:42 PM PM me what you want for the radiator skid! Need it either shipped to Dallas or dropped off at my Grandma's in OKC, haha.

Yes, I do want both please.
Macland 10-02-2011, 11:31 PM bump for Okies, anybody else?
OKXterra 10-03-2011, 06:03 AM There just aren't many that are regulars on here unfortunately.
SoonerFan 10-03-2011, 07:21 AM Rosser-X said in the other thread he would be interested...but he hasnt posted in awhile
SoonerFan 10-03-2011, 07:23 AM anyone a member of club xterra?

OKXterra 10-03-2011, 08:34 AM I PMed everyone in the old Oklahoma thread that was still in OK. I've mentioned it to a few XOC members on facebook, but they are gen 1 Xs and not sure if they are very interested... we'll see.
Macland 10-03-2011, 10:11 AM I'll post something up in the clubxterra oklahoma thread.

Cool. It's been so long since I've been on XOC, I can't remember my password anymore, lol.
Rosser-X 10-08-2011, 02:09 PM I'll be there. I really don't have anything I can really do to my X except maybe the stealth mod.
Macland 10-08-2011, 02:43 PM No responses so far from the CX thread. There is less action on that thread than there is in our thread on the newX. Wanna pm people your address sometime SoonerFan?
BTW BOOMER! Killin those horns!
OKXterra 10-08-2011, 04:03 PM Well, we'll have a few show up it looks like. And I agree with Macland, drop us a PM sometime with your address. Any thoughts on time?
Macland 10-08-2011, 06:08 PM I'm thinking earlier rather than later. I'll let SoonerFan set the time but I'd like to shoot for 10:00 or so. Man I'm so stoked for this!

I'm cool with early too, and yeah, definitely looking forward to it.
Anybody want to buy a brand bew set of Hella 500FF lights? $45, still in the box. Let me know!

Dibs if someone can help me wire em up? I am not good at electrical wiring on a car, I've got no experience with that.
Do they have the shields and wiring kit with them?
OKXterra 10-08-2011, 07:18 PM Yup, it is everything you need... shields and wiring kit included. Electrical is one of my weak spots too, but I'm guessing someone else will be able to help. Jeepman1 should be there next weekend and he's got lights wired to his Xoskel light bar, so he knows what he is doing.
Macland 10-08-2011, 07:26 PM Which shields are they? Are they the ones with Hella written across them that are white with black lettering? Are they the black metal ones? The smoked ones? Hehe could you tell I've been researching them after you mentioned them.
OKXterra 10-08-2011, 07:30 PM LOL! Yeah. It's the white shields with black lettering.
Macland 10-08-2011, 07:36 PM Awesome man. Are you guys getting rain today?
OKXterra 10-08-2011, 07:37 PM Oh, and the bodies are black metal; the lenses are clear, not smoked
OKXterra 10-08-2011, 07:38 PM Awesome man. Are you guys getting rain today?
Yeah, it's been raining pretty much nonstop since noon! Loving it! I guess y'all are pretty wet today too.
High-Altitude-X 10-08-2011, 07:49 PM Started to rain during 3rd quarter of the game, stayed as a true fan to the very end...sure hope it keeps up as our pond is a good 5 feet below the bottom of the spill way/over flow pipe. But any rain is better than none at this point in time.
Macland 10-08-2011, 08:20 PM We've been getting rained on pretty much all day. We really could use the rain for several more days. I know that farmers could really use this to get some things sewed in at least for insurance purposes. I'm glad you guys are all getting rain now too though. I just looked outside and my rain gauge is sitting at 1 INCH!!!! I'm fairly certain that's close to or more rain than we've had all year.
Those lights sound better and better man.
Macland 10-09-2011, 03:21 PM I've also got the stock carpet mats I'll give up pretty cheap, anybody for $10
SoonerFan 10-10-2011, 08:26 AM back home!!
10 seems like a good time
looking forward to this!
OKXterra 10-10-2011, 10:31 AM welcome home!!! And I guess 10 it is!
Macland 10-10-2011, 12:00 PM Welcome back!

SoonerFan 10-11-2011, 12:48 PM my address is:
10620 S Miller Ave (main intersection is 104th and May)
OKXterra 10-11-2011, 01:27 PM Cool. Looking forward to this! I'll give jeepman1 a call tonight and remind him and pass on the address in case he hasn't come back to this thread.
Macland 10-11-2011, 06:40 PM I mapped this out and it's gonna take us right at 2 hrs to get there. I'm really looking forward to it.
OKXterra 10-11-2011, 06:46 PM Macland, we'll probably see each other on the drive up!
Macland 10-11-2011, 07:13 PM It's very possible! I'm planning on leaving just before 8, BUT ( and that's a big but ) my wife can be a pain in the mornings on occasion. :sleepy2: She's usually awesome about getting up and all but different days have produced different results. She's pretty excited about getting to go the zoo though and she's excited for the Xterra stuff, but more excited that I'm excited.
I may have to get up extra early and surprise her/persuade her out of bed faster with breakfast.
SoonerFan 10-11-2011, 10:12 PM my wife is looking forward to having other wives to talk to about our "crazy obsessions with our Xterras"
Macland 10-11-2011, 11:10 PM Haha, yeah I'm sure my wife will mention that the Xterra was her idea first and I stole it from her :laughing6::bootyshake:
OKXterra 10-12-2011, 06:25 AM Hmmm, what if the wife has a crazy Xterra obsession too? LOL!
SoonerFan 10-12-2011, 09:05 AM my wife doesnt mind either...she just likes to give me sh1t
SoonerFan 10-14-2011, 09:06 AM time to clean out the garage
Macland 10-14-2011, 10:20 AM And you had said you had tools right? We don't need to drag our junk with us.

OKXterra 10-14-2011, 10:25 AM If anyone thinks they might need any tools, I've got plenty of stuff I could bring too...

i have most tools we should need
if you think you need something special, bring it
Macland 10-14-2011, 11:49 AM I don't figure I'll need anything special. Well, someone pointed out that they thought I would need to cut my grill once the bumper was on correctly, would I need to bring a saw zaw.

Macland 10-14-2011, 01:28 PM Awesome. I'm hoping I won't have to cut, but I'm ready if I have to.

OKXterra 10-14-2011, 01:37 PM Macland, you want to put those map pockets on Sunday? I can bring a riveter if you do.
Macland 10-14-2011, 02:12 PM Yes please, I definitely don't have one of those. Although I'd like to see one in action.

SoonerFan 10-14-2011, 06:28 PM good call, i do not have a riveter

OKXterra 10-17-2011, 10:16 PM My wife wanted me to specifically say that she had a really good time with everybody.
Awesome, that means she'll say yes to the next get together!

glad we made her feel welcome!
Macland 10-17-2011, 11:17 PM I've got no doubt she'll say yes next time.
I've researched all over the forums, youtube, and just plain searched and can't find a definitive how to for those lights. I've got a pretty firm grasp on what I need to do up until the switch inside.
