I had to live with the staining problem when I had my Snapper (such a badass turtle) and it only got worse. I never found a way to get rid of it, but props on your setup - looks nice and easy to maintain.

thanks.
I do partial water changes twice a week.
My wife thinks I'm obsessed. I guess I crossed the line when I picked through her salad looking for spinach to feed the pleco.

It's a new gene splice Dr Mafesto and I have been working on. After the squirrel and provolone cheese splicing failed, we had to start over.

What kind of tortise is that?
We saw some (I forget what species) at the pet store and my wife wanted one.
I have no idea how I would house one though.
I'm assuming some sort of indoor pen and another pen for outside in nice weather.

He's a Desert Tortoise. We let him wander around inside the house when it is cold outside and during the summer the backyard is his. Just make sure the backyard is sealed, as he is quite krafty and has escaped. He was missing for about three weeks onetime and was found by some ATV'ers who returned him. He was almost dead, as I think he was unable to locate food. He also eat a lot of stones while he was out there. It took a couple months of TLC to get him back to his speedy self.

You let him roam around the house?
Do you have to turtle proof your house?
I used to let my iguanas do that. Back in the good old days when I was single I had 2 iguanas. I had a tree in my living room that they would hang out in.
Fell right into my pickup line at the bars. " You want to see my lizard?"
I'd take some drunk bitch home and the damn iguanas would end up getting all the attention.
"oh that's so cool!"
STFU....here's some money, call a cab.
