DETROIT (Reuters) - Shares in Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F - news) rose more than 5 percent on Wednesday as investors greeted a report that the struggling No. 2 U.S. automaker was open to an alliance with Nissan-Renault.

Wouldn't be too far of a stretch since Nissan is like the Ford of Japanese cars anyways. :)

Ford is trying anything and everything to make themselves look good. Drop production 21%, call for help from Ghosn, dumping Rubin, selling Jag and Land Rover to JP.
What the really need to do has been said, "Maybe said #2 company should try putting out a good product instead".

I read in the WSJ that Goshen said he cannot talk to Ford until all talks have ceased with GM. But he didn't close the door for the future. Must be nice to be loved.
