Not much to say as yet, just one pic.
Will add to this later after I try to pour gas in the tank tomorrow.

What I will say is if you buy the mounting handles do not get the locking version. To say its imperfect is somewhat of an understatement. To lock these down buy a cable. I will explain later.

I did not feel like building a tower of gas on the roof rack, even with two rotopax stacked its much lower then one or two jerry cans. Sometime in the future I will build a custom fit gas tank up there with a hose I can drop down to the filler tube, until then the rotopax seems like the best fit for me.

Just FYI, Rotopax currently has the 3-Gallon packs on sale for 25% off through the end of June. Not a bad deal if you've been thinking about picking some up.

I have always used straps to secure the containers.

Hope you got the self venting spout and not the CARB spout.

Tried to pour gas today, could not get it to pour a single drop of gas. Can not find anything on Rotopax site. No time to investigate, I am on my way to Cornville.

Looks good John.
They do look cool, just too rich for my blood at $100/4 gallons not including any mounting system. I see their design usefulness on ATVs.

The CARB spout is a Rube Goldberg contraption that should be thrown away.

The ECO spout requires you to twist the green band to the right for fuel to flow.

I throw both of above spouts in the garbage and order the yellow spout.

It WORKS... Works better if you make sure the air return tube is pointing up when you pour.

Other notes:

I have the old style two gallon olive drab containers with the separate vent.

I also have the new style 2 gallon with the single outlet. These come in red which I repaint to olive. The new style has better threads on the cap.

I also have the new 3 gallon container which I like a LOT.

I may buy another 3 gallon and use two 3 gallon containers for back country exploring.

I converted to RotoPax from 10 liter Scepter containers. I liked the Scepter cans but they were always awkward for me to secure.

Ran out of gas not too long ago across the intersection from my favorite gas station. The one that sells cookies just the way I like them. Passed many stations to get to that one.

Tried to pour gas out of that eco spout, it would not pour. So I broke it open, stared at the inner workings for a bit, then crammed it back together and it started pouring as I would like it to pour instead of having to fuss about with the green thingy that never worked.
Now that its been broke-fixed its great.

My next entry will be with pics and why you do not want the locking mount.

The carb and eco spouts are junk.

Order the yellow spout that they sell with the can everywhere but north america.

i like these cans because they are low profile. less drag on the highway and a cleaner look on the roof rack. to bad i just bought 2 more septors and have a full septor setup with racks. they are pricey, but you would save that in gas due to being more streamlined i bet.

Isn't that interesting.

No yellow spout.

They do offer a conventional spout kit which I suspect will work (sort of) but I don't think it has the air return line built into it. The containers it is designed to work for have a separate vent cap.

Looking further I see the following:
The water packs (white) are supplied with a yellow self-breathing flex spout that can be viewed and ordered as a replacement for water and fuel packs under our replacement parts category. All international orders will be shipped with the yellow self-breathing spouts.

You might call them and see if they still offer the yellow spout.
