Ok guys I have been able to have DT design some B-pipes for the X. They will be aluminized 2.25" straight through. They will be a direct bolt on application with o2 bungs installed. The group buy price is going to be $195 SHIPPED. How does this sound to everybody? Obviously if i can get 20 people on board than i can drop the price a little bit more but this part is not going to make anybody rich:crybaby:

Can i use the b tubes after i install the long tube headers??? Where do they fit? Infront of or behind cat 1? Or infront of cat 2? If they work with the long tube headers i'm interested after i here your results on the dyno. Thank you, good idea!

I believe these B-pipes would go from your cats to the muff.

If you have the DT long tubes, and order these B pipes, you will have no cats. That is the way I read it in prerunners initial B-pipe thread.

Depending on where you live yes. As far as dynos go i am Nissanless at the moment so if anybody is local to corona then i could arainge a free install and Dyno session.

What kinda deal can you offer on a Long tube, B-Pipe and Cat back combo?

I kind of screwed myself by not having much cushion in my pricing. I can knock off about 25 bucks or so but that would be about it.

Just put in for the order hopefully I get them before NXM. Now the full exhaust setup will be complete.

I have about 9 left out of the 20.

Any idea what kind of gains you might see out of this installed on an otherwise stock exhaust system? Power or MPG benefit?

I am estimating that you would see 7-8 hp and a slight mpg increase on a stock X. I know on the Tacoma which is the closest powertrain you gain 12 hp so i am being conservative.

Why wouldn't you put long tubes on?

Already had the Shorties lying around and hoping that with one set of cats I can still pass emissions tests when I move out of Indiana.

When you put these on keep the factory cats its pretty easy to remove and put back on so if you ever had to go through emissions then just slap them back on and your good to go.

Yeah that's what I figured. Much easier than having to change out long tube headers when the time comes

Or you can just go with hiflow primary cats and the DT b pipes and the shorties thats what I did custom duals will be done next week so from headers back will be all replaced. This should give some nice gains before I go supercharged.

I have the NISMO catback on now, so the only stock section remaining will be the primary cats. One day I will look into the high flow cats but the budget is just about out now.

When will these ship? Trying to get a time frame on when I can install these before I do the custom exhaust.

Well got the pipes installed today and it does makes a difference, but if you have highflow cats like I do you will get a very loud rasp from this install. My truck now sound like a ricer and it is quite embarrassing. Im taking it to the shop on Friday to have the exhuast converted over to duals and having resonators put on hopefully this will get rid of the anoying rasp. Anything under 3000rpm its sounds amazing but when you step on it the sound is so loud thats all you hear. If the resonators dont fix the rasp then Im gona have to put the cats back on, cant be driving around in an X that sound like a four cylinder honda civic. Anyone have any info on how to get rid of the rasp and keep these B pipes. Not to sway anyone away from buying these if you have your stock primary cats you will not have any issues with these and by the seat of the pants dyno it you will notice the difference.

Mine arrived today. Thanks for that info, post up results when you get the chance.

I would have started with an Xpipe and bullet resonators to combat the the rasp...

The shop here in VA will not install the x pipe before the muffler since the truck did not come from factory with duals they will not convert it to true duals. I have a magnaflow x pipe and two single in/out mufflers but they will not put it on for me so I had to order a new muffler single in dual out. You think putting the x pipe on the back end of the dual out muffler and a resonator will solve this problem.

Nope, my thinking would have been to have an xpipe with built in resonators instead of the BPIPES, then use a dual in muffler. I had a similar thing happen on a previous vehicle. I personally chopped the cats and then took it to a shop, the they didn't have any problems.

What material are these pipes made of thinking of chopping it up and add a resonator to it to help reduce the rasp just need to know if I need a tig or mig welder. Another note: I was throwing codes with just my highflowcats after installing this pipe codes are now gone.

The pipes are made from aluminized so a standard mig would work great.

ok thanks for the info. Update on the rasp! I got the custom dual exhaust with magnaflow and resonator installed today and the rasp is almost gone just a slight rasp at about 4 to 5 k range. I had the resonator installe right before the tips cause this is the only place to fit them. Next I will be installing another resonator on the B pipes to get rid of what rasp and loud drone is left from this setup. Its really loud to much for my liking, overall performace has improved.

OK the first batch sold out pretty quick. I already recieved the second batch so they are ready to ship again immediately.

They bolt up perfectly and will still provide a definate gain while keeping a nice mellow sound.

hell no. got DT long tubes and full catback.

got them in today. Got a lot of noise/rattle. Will give it 1000-1500 km to see if it gets better. If not i will be looking into a different muffler

On your website it looks like the shorties give a better bump in low end TQ than the long tubes. Is that the case? Do the shorties replace the front cats in the process? In other words, if I installed the shorties and the B pipes, would I have any cats left? I really haven't looked to see what the exhaust routing looks like.

The shorties just replace the manifolds. You would still have a set of cats with shorties and b-pipes.

hmmm...looking into these....still not sold on them tho....how do people like them so far??

It will give you that tin can rattle at least mine did with my setup. Im gona be chopping the b pipes up and weld on some hiflow cats to them to see if that will kill the tincan noise. But other than the noise did see some noticeable gains.

IMS ftw, and pullys are on my list. I have only seen the lightweight crank pulley offered, anyone besides stillen make them?

I have to object to the lightweight pullies if you are looking for additional performance... The key to the b pipes are to NOT run a chambered muffler i.e. flowmaster and possibly add a resonator into the mix.

Yeh I ran both style muffler with same issues. Now Im running a magnaflow straight through muffler and have a resonator installed and no help. Thats why Im thinking putting in highflow cats there.

Just heard back from Nick at PreRunnerParts....it's gonna be 2 more weeks before he gets B-Pipes in stock...so it will be a while before I get them installed.

Anyone heard from Nick lately on the availability of these?

I've still got an oder in for a cat back for 9/2.... He's fairly responsive over email. DT just isnt getting around to making these parts.

The "B" pipes will be shippig by Tuesday as they are actually in welding now. The catbacks are about to go into welding so they should hopefully be next week too!

Got my 'B' pipes installed.....nice, quality product.

Regarding the exhaust note.....there IS a differnce over stock. My entire exhaust is OEM with only the 'B' pipes installed. There is a slight bit of resonance at 2/3rds throttle and at WOT the exhaust is a bit more rhaspy. At normal driving speeds, there is no resonance so it's not annoying. I like it.

Next purchase will be the the DT Cat-Back system.
