this is my sisters old '97 Jeep 4x4 ZJ. She got a brand new fully loaded honda accord (for a law school graduation present). and she wants to get rid of this beauty for cheap. I think i will offer her $1,000 and see if she bites. Tell me what you think.

Not a limited, so it's the 4.0?

Could make for some serious fun. Plus, for a 1K investment, you could easily flip it for some extra Xterra money.

You are starting to scare me...You want to know if your sister bites??? :drunken:

BUt hell yea on the ZJ. At least if you want a vehicle to beat on the trail. Save the X for more refined wheeling.

I guess ill get it. im not worried about gas because it will only be used on trails. And yes it is not the limited (just laredo).
Im going to go to 4wheel parts later and ask them what type of suspension lifts (the bigger the better) they have!

You want a long arm suspension lift for most flex and travel. BTW: does that have IFS or SA?

LOL :toothy8: . Yeah, I talked to the guys a 4wheel parts and they suggested the 4"Rubicon. Is that plenty or do I need to go a little bigger?

Contrary to popular belief, Jeep mods are no cheaper than Xterra mods...there are just more of them.

I have known a few people to wheel ZJ's and they do well. Buy it and beat the hell out of it. :)

http://www.rockkrawler.com/pages/catalog/index.php?r_itemID=54 <--that is what you want right there.

If you are going to do it, go all the way. Get a long arm kit. RE makes one if you want to stick with them.

You're making all these plans based on the assumption she'll sell for 1K. If she just graduated law school, she may talk you into 10K.

lol yeah you'er right, but i think the deal that was made between her and my parents (the ones who bought her a new car) was that they got to keep the jeep. If she sells it behind their backs to me for 1k. That will be 1K more than she would have gotten otherwise. And my parents (who have no interest in the car) wont have to keep it in their garage forever.
