Also, kilts are designed to sit on the top of the hips, and not at the waist. Very hard for a woman to wear a kilt correctly, as most women wear their clothing at the waist. I own a kilt which bears my family colours (Scott...doesn't get much easier than that) and I wear it at Scottish festivals in my area. Your kilt represents your family name.
