I'm looking for some advice on where to go in Carson and/or Santa Fe Nat'l Forests in Northern NM. Looking to head down that way in early Sept. I'd prefer some rather remote primitive camping with 4x4 access - nothing too serious though. Anybody got anything for me?

Check out Carson NF close to Cimarron (also home of Philmont Boy Scout Ranch). Beautiful country, and there's a great bar called "Cold Beer" near Colfax, which happens to be a straight shot down a gravel road from the NF. One must have priorities, after all!

Jemez mountain, there's hot springs in the area. I have some waypoints that I will share when my home computer is back up and running.
http://www.hotspringsenthusiast.com/newmexico.asp my waypoints are based off of this site though.
Check out Bandelier NM. I would highly recommend a night of backpacking there. I have that entire place mapped out as well.
I will be in Santa Fe the last week of Aug BTW, if you need me to scout anything out. The X is coming with me.
Oh and I have a local resource in Santa Fe that always knows where the best Guinness pour in town is.
